How Soundfly Mentorship Works

A Soundfly Mentor is like a personal trainer for your music. They work with you on a weekly basis to help you achieve something you might not have thought possible.

All of us on the Soundfly team have had similar experiences of signing up for online courses or classes that we just never finished, or didn’t remember anything from, even as soon as the next day. We wanted to try something different in order to solve that problem, so we focused on an active approach to online learning. That’s where the idea for Soundfly Mentorship came from.

Over the past couple years, we’ve chatted with thousands of aspiring and active musicians, and we realized that so many of you are really hungering for human connection, and with a professional who can help you move past the obstacles that have been holding you back.

In our programs, you can connect with Soundfly Mentors from all over the world. They’re expert musicians working in the field in some way. They’re trained and supported throughout their involvement, so they will do whatever it takes to help you meet your goals. If you have a question, your Soundfly Mentor is there to answer it. If you get stuck, your Mentor is there to help you get through it. If you’re lost, your Mentor can help you get back on track.

Mainstage and Headliners Club

We have two programs that allow you to work with a Soundfly Mentor right now. You can sign up for one of our in-depth Mainstage courses around a specific topic, such as music theory, mixing, orchestration, or composition. These are courses made with some of the best musicians in the business, from Grammy-award winning mix engineers to Ableton Certified Trainers to leading music education thinkers. Join one of these courses and you’ll get a Soundfly Mentor to work through all the content with you for six weeks.

The other option is our new Headliners Club program that allows you to sign up for 1:1 support on a self-directed study or project of your choosing. This is a great option if you have a specific project in mind, like a song that you want help writing.

The core idea behind our mentorship model is to meet you where you are and do whatever we can to unlock what you uniquely have to offer the world. Reach out to us at [email protected] if you’d like to chat about what options might be right for you!

And a special thank you to Soundfly student Kylie Couper for composing the background music to the video above.
